Include inactive users in statistics

Where will inactive users be shown in reporting if "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled?

In Admin > Settings > Reporting you will find the setting "Include inactive users in statistics". When enabled, inactive users will be included in multiple locations throughout your platform.

Teams & People > Conversations:

Inactive users will be visible within the Conversations space in all areas including Number of direct reports, Requires attention, Upcoming conversations, and Member list.


The inactive users will similarly appear when viewing all Conversations.

Teams & People > Learning:

Inactive users will also appear within the Learning space in all areas including Number of direct reports, Total completion %, Topics completion %, and Member list, as well as the downloadable Learning Report.

Teams & People > Journeys:

You will additionally find inactive users within the Journeys space in all areas including Number of direct reports and in all Journey carousels, as well as the downloadable Journey Report.


Reports > Courses:

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will influence the data within Course reporting, more specifically the calculation of Average courses per user as illustrated below.


In addition, the columns Assigned and Completed will equally be affected.


Course report:

In the downloadable Course report (excel file), the tab Courses will include inactive users in the columns Assigned and Completed.


The same is reflected in the tab Course Assignments, where inactive users will also be included in the columns Assigned and Completed.

In the tab Playlist Assignments, inactive users will be included in the column Assigned.

Individual Course page:

When viewing an individual course page, inactive users will be included in the calculations for Assigned users, Users in progress, Users completed, and Completion.


Inactive users will similarly be included within Quiz Insights for Average score on first attempt, Average time to completion, Average attempts until completion, and Users completed.

When viewing the Quiz Insights Full report, the areas mentioned above will equally include inactive users.

Responses submitted in the Quiz by inactive users will also be displayed.


In the bottom of the individual course page, inactive users will be shown in the Assigned Users List for the Course.

Focus Modes:

When switching to the Quiz focus mode, inactive users will be listed as well.

Similarly, when switching to the Certifications focus mode, certifications issued to inactive users will be included in the results.


Individual Course report:

When downloading the individual course report as an excel file, inactive users will be included in the column Active with the status FALSE.


Reports > Events:

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will influence the data within Events reporting, more specifically the calculation of the Attendance percentages as well as the columns Assigned and Completed as illustrated below.


Events report:

In the downloadable Events report (excel file), the tab Events will include inactive users in the columns Assigned and Completed.


Individual Events page:

When viewing an individual Event page, inactive users will be included in the calculations for Assigned users, Signed up, In progress, and Completed, as well as being listed in the Users list.


When viewing the Event Sessions, inactive users will be included in the columns Signed up, Attended, Unattended, and Cancelled.


Focus Modes:

When switching to the Certifications focus mode, inactive users will be listed as well.

Certifications report:

When downloading the Certifications report as an excel file, inactive users will be included as well.


Reports > Learning plans:

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will influence the data within Learning plan reporting, more specifically the calculation of the Average learning plans per user, Average completion, and Total learning plans completion, as well as the columns Majority completion, Assigned users and Completed as illustrated below.


Learning plans report:

In the downloadable Learning plans report (excel file), the tab Learning plans will include inactive users in the columns Average Completed Steps %, Assigned Users and Completed.

Individual Learning plan page:

When viewing an individual Learning plan page, inactive users will be included in the calculations for Assigned users, Users in progress, User completed, and Total completion.


The Learning plan Certification insights will similarly include inactive users in Compliance rate, Total issued certifications, Voluntary completion rate, New certifications issued in the last 30 days, as well as being listed in the Users list.


Individual Learning plan report:

When downloading the individual Learning plan report as an excel file, inactive users will be included in the column Active with the status FALSE.

Focus Modes:

When switching to the Certifications focus mode, inactive users will be listed as well.

When switching to the Courses tab, inactive users will be included in the columns Not started, In progress, Completed, and Avg. completion time.


When downloading an individual course report as an excel file, it will include inactive users in the columns Users Started, Users Completed, Users Not Started, and Average Completion Time.


When switching to the Events tab, inactive users will be included in the columns Signed up, On waiting list, Attended, Unattended, and Cancelled.


When downloading an individual events report as an excel file, it will include inactive users in the columns Signed up, On waiting list, Attended, Unattended, and Cancelled.


Reports > People

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will be included in the Engagement calculation as well as in the People list.


When downloading a People report as an excel file, it will also contain inactive users. These inactive users will be included in the column Active with the status FALSE.


Reports > Groups

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will influence the data within Group reporting, more specifically the calculation of the Average users per group, as well as the columns Employees, Business Title %, Required compl. % and Optional compl. % as illustrated below.


When downloading a Groups report as an excel file, inactive users will be included in the columns Employees, Business Title Completion, Required Completion, and Optional Completion.


Reports > Goals

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, there is no change to Goals reporting.


Reports > Skills

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will influence the data within Skills reporting, more specifically the calculation of the Employees coveres and Employee skills data, as well as the columns Employees with skill, Distribution and Completion % as illustrated below.


When looking at Business titles, inactive users will be included in the columns Employees and Completion %.


Reports > Segment Reporting

When "Include inactive users in statistics" is enabled, inactive user profiles will be included in the Member count and Completion percentages.


When downloading a Segment report as an excel file, inactive users will be included in the calculation for the Completion percentage.
