What is Messaging?
Messaging on eloomi is an in-house messenger tool that allows employees to communicate with each other. It is similar to other messaging tools such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, iMessage, etc. Messaging is a great tool to use for internal communication, ensuring safe and secure delivery of any information sent.
Note: To use Messaging, you must ensure that Employee Communication is available with your plan and enabled on your platform. If you have any doubts, please reach out to your CSM or AM to discuss further.
Who can create a Message?
As long as Employee Communication is enabled on your platform, any person can message anyone on the platform! Simply click the Messaging tab in your navbar at the top of your screen. Once you do so, it will look something like this:
Any messages you may already have will be here!
How do I create a Message?
Creating a Message is fairly simple. First, navigate to the Messaging Tab. Here you will see an option to create a new Message.
Click the button, and search for the People you want to chat with. Select just one person
for a private chat or multiple for a group chat! Once you have selected the people you want to chat with, make sure you send a message. If you don't the chat will not save and you will have to create and find the same people again.
Keep in mind that once you initiate a chat with a single person, that chat cannot be turned into a Group chat.
Can I upload Files into a Message thread?
Yes! You can upload photos, videos, and files in a chat. This will be saved as well and accessed in the side menu after clicking the (i) icon.
If you are on mobile, you can also record and send photos and videos directly from your phone into the message!
How do I edit or delete my Message?
Editing and deleting messages is very simple. First, find the message you want to edit or delete.
From there, scroll over it and you will see the menu pop up. Click the pencil icon to edit the message:
Once you click edit, you will see the message appear in the text box below. You can edit it and then resend it.
Once you edit it, you will see the change immediately. Above the message, you will see some text indicating that it has been edited. In order to delete a message, click the three dots after scrolling over the message. Here you can see the red delete icon:
Click Delete, it will confirm with you if you are sure you would like to delete it. Click Yes, delete it. This will delete the message, however, the Group chat will still show that there was a message there, it has just been deleted:
