What are Instructors?

Instructors are the people who are given a special (non-permanent) role to lead the events. When creating a session, you can assign an instructor to it. These people do not have to be admins. This means that they can be assigned to any type of user.

How can I add an Instructor to an Event?

You can add Instructors in two places, first when you are creating a new session:

Or you can add them when editing an existing session:

People who are Instructors for at least a single, not-cancelled session gain access to a new page called Instructor.

On this page, people can see their upcoming and past events as shown in the screenshot below. You are also able to edit the session, similarly to how they can when they are on the Events page. You can edit all the same things that you can usually edit in the session except the Instructors.

Please note that instructors only receive email notifications about changes in events if they are enrolled as regular people. They don't receive any additional messages about events.

How do I edit an Event as an Instructor?

Editing an Event as an Instructor is simple. First, navigate to your Instructor tab.

Here, you will see the list of all the Event sessions that you are the instructor for. Here you can see the Event Title, date, number of attendees, the status of the Event, and the author. Additionally, you can choose between Upcoming Events and Past Events by clicking the toggle.

Lastly, you can also sort based on Name, Author, Status, and Start date, as well as filter for Authors, Status, and Dates.
