As an admin, it is easy to create and manage Communities in the framework of Employee Communication. In this article you will learn how to get started.
Please note, once you have enabled Employee Communication in your platform, a global Community called "All Users" will automatically be created for all people in the platform.
How to create a Community
Communities in Employee Communication need to be based on existing groups in the eloomi platform. If you have no groups created in the platform, you can find more information about how to create groups here.
First, navigate to the group you would like to create a Community for, by navigating to Admin, Organization, and select Groups in the right menu.
In the overview, you find the column Community status that indicates if a Group already has a Community activated.
Clicking the desired Group or selecting Edit using the three dots will take you to the Group settings page. Now, click Enable Community.
Now, you must add a Community name, a description and a cover image. Moderator cannot be defined before the Community has been created, see below.
In the Permissions sections, you can define which of the user groups are should have permissions to posts and comment in the Community. Using the drop down menu, you can select permissions:
Admins only
Moderators and admins
All members
Clicking Create Community will create your Community and will make it accessible for all people in the selected group!
How to edit Communities and manage moderators and permissions
To edit a Community, you must go Edit Group as described above. Now, you edit and configure the settings of the associated Community.
You are now able to define Moderators for the Community. A moderator will be able to edit or delete any post or comment in the Community. Select the users from the field, by start writing the name. You can select more moderators for the same Community.
In case you would like to would like to deactivate the community you can choose to archive or delete the community:
Archive will preserve the Community data, but members will no longer have access to it.
Delete will permanently delete the Community and all its data.
