This article delves into the significance of end-user training, providing valuable insights into effective approaches and essential topics for such training.

At eloomi, we recognize the importance of ensuring that your end-users are well-acquainted and proficient in utilizing your eloomi platform. In this article, we aim to offer context regarding why we do not provide extensive ready-made resources for distribution, along with recommendations for effective training approaches and topics to cover when educating your end-users on your new LMS/LXP.

Why We Don't Provide End-User Training Materials

At eloomi, we abstain from offering end-user support or furnishing guides and articles specifically tailored to end-users. There are two primary reasons for this decision:

Firstly, we believe our system is intuitively designed, allowing a significant portion of users to navigate and utilize its functionalities without the need for extensive documentation or training. Many users can grasp the system's features swiftly.

Secondly, delivering standardized training materials with eloomi branding, menus, and additional functionalities might inadvertently confuse users due to discrepancies in visual elements, wording, and functionality.

Approaches to End-User Training

Over the years, we've witnessed various approaches to end-user training among our customers, which need not be overly complex or time-consuming. However, we consistently recommend utilizing courses or playlists to disseminate information and facilitate training. Here are some effective approaches, along with tips on implementing them in eloomi:

  1. Introduction Videos: A best practice involves creating a general introduction video featuring your CEO or Senior Management, inviting users to the platform. This video should articulate the rationale behind adopting the platform, the organization's learning strategy, and what users can anticipate.

  2. Step-by-Step Platform Navigation Videos: An informative video demonstrating step-by-step navigation through the platform from the user's perspective can be immensely helpful. This video should elucidate key functionalities and guide users through essential actions.

Suggested Areas for End-User Training

When devising your end-user training, it's unnecessary to cover every facet of the platform. Instead, leverage your understanding of the organization and its employees to determine the depth of coverage required. Consider the user's expectations and desired experiences when navigating the platform. Here's a curated list of potential topics and areas to include in your end-user training:

  1. Introduction to Learning Strategy: Explain how the learning strategy aligns with the organization's overarching goals and objectives.

  2. Platform Onboarding: Guide users through their initial interaction with the platform, providing essential insights into its features and functionalities.

  3. Dashboard Orientation: Familiarize users with the dashboard's widgets and highlight the available functionalities.

  4. Navigation Tips: Identify the most crucial menu tabs and demonstrate how users can navigate effectively.

  5. Course/Playlist Access: Explain how users can access courses or playlists, and if applicable, how to register for events.

  6. Account Management: Guide users on how to manage their account settings, including password changes, profile edits, and password recovery procedures.

  7. Email Notification Management: If email notifications are optional, provide instructions on how users can enable or disable them based on their preferences.

  8. Internal Support Channels: Inform users about internal support channels and avenues for providing feedback.

We trust that these insights will inspire you and provide clarity on the most suitable approach for your end-user training endeavors.
